For installing server-side part of Esomo:
Esomo can be used in Ethernet networks with any client operational system supported by VPN (for example Windows, Linux, FreeBSD). Esomo server part should be installed on a separate computer connected to the local network and the internet.
The computer the Esomo server part will be installed on must meet the following minimum system requirements:
- Processor 300 MHz (Pentium / Celeron / AMD / VIA C7)
- RAM 128 Mb
- Hard drive 4 Gb (IDE / SATA)
- Two Ethernet netcards (one of which should be connected to the local network, while the other one should be connected to the network of an internet provider). For getting acquainted with the system, it is enough to have only one netcard.
Optimal configuration for a computer with Esomo strongly depends on network loading: the more users are to be connected to the internet via Esomo, the more powerful should be the computer.
For running Esomo Admin:
Adjustment and administration of the Esomo server is accomplished remotely through the Esomo Admin program. The application can be run only on the computers operated by Microsoft Windows (version 98/NT 4.0 and higher).
Requirements for autoVPN functioning:
Creation and adjustment of a VPN connection between the user computer and the Esomo server is automatically implemented by the autoVPN ActiveX component. The user computer must meet the following requirements for ActiveX's proper functioning:
Microsoft Windows (98, ME, NT 4, 2000, 2003, XP, Vista);
- one of the following browsers with ActiveX support:
- Internet Explorer, version 4.0 or higher
- Netscape, version 7.2 or higher
- Mozilla Firefox
- Opera, version 9.0 or higher
If the browser doesn't support ActiveX, you should install an ActiveX plugin: Mozilla Firefox (version 1.x, version 1.5 or higher); Opera. - ActiveX controls should be allowed to download and execute on your computer.
