Esomo is a software router offering secure access over the Internet, traffic monitoring and limitation, planning your Internet budget, convenient reporting system, enhanced Wi-Fi protection, and traffic encryption.
Esomo has low system requirements and can easily deal with routing traffic from hundreds of users. Esomo is used in small-sized to enterprise-level companies wired and wireless networks to solve the following tasks:
Managing and controlling Internet shared access
- shared Internet access;
- Internet access control for each user by individual login and password;
- transparent Internet access for all users and Internet services, no configuration of user PC or network programs required;
- centralized management of user accounts and settings on any networked Windows PC.
Managing Internet expenses, thus reducing traffic
- setting Internet traffic and time limits for each user;
- automatic tracking of used traffic (time) by each user;
- viewing detailed statistics by each user over a custom period;
- generating and printing reports (bills) on traffic usage;
- traffic division into categories: paid and nonchargeable; possibility to specify different tariff plans.
Local network protection
- protection from external attacks using a firewall and NAT technology;
- protection from unauthorized user access to the Internet, even the one through spoofing of IP/MAC addresses;
- protection from unauthorized user access to the Esomo router settings;
- protection from traffic listening by using an encrypted VPN tunnel;
- protection of Wi-Fi networks from unauthorized connections and "false" access points using two-way authentication via digital certificates (EAP-TLS).
Esomo is easy to install and configure. You can create a secure Internet shared access system using Esomo within as little as several minutes.
Step 1. Esomo is installed onto a separate PC located between a local area network and the Internet. Esomo does not need an OS or additional software as it already includes the FreeBSD network operating system and ready-to-use services, which significantly reduces time required to create shared Internet access. After installation, the PC will not even need a monitor, mouse, or keyboard.
Step 2. The Esomo server is remotely configured from any networked Windows PC via a client program with a convenient GUI. Login, password, and Internet traffic limits are defined for each user.
Step 3. Logins and passwords are forwarded to network users. No additional settings on their PCs are required. As soon as the user opens a web-browser and attempts to surf the Internet, an authorization form will be loaded. After entering the login and password, the user will get access to the Internet, and Esomo will start tracking the traffic used.
